PL: Week 4

Finally caught up with everything! Yay! It was Chinese/Vietnamese New Year this week so I tried to put a color theme for the week of reds, golds, yellows.
I was also pretty sick this week. Which is why I put a packet of Neo Citran... it helped me sleep & sooth my cough/throat.
I added Ethan's little 'story' he created at school and brought home on Tuesday.
I kept everything simple using tags by Elle's Studio, Crate Paper phrase stickers and journaling cards from Lily Pad. Thanks for looking!

PL 2012: Week 3, Studio Calico CHAllenges & more!

I was up till 4am Saturday night/Sunday morning finishing up my PL Week 3. I kept it more simple and did more journaling this week. I found some stuff to download from the Studio Calico freebie thread where I downloaded that "HOME" print and the "i love you" print. I can't find the link anymore but once I do i'll post it.

Some of my favorite pictures are taken this week. Especially the one of me & Arianna on the second page. That was taken late at night after I got home from work. She just kept making those cute faces so I couldn't resist taking pictures. I finally found that SMASH tape at Michael's and was the perfect accent to those pictures. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!
I'm working on just putting the finishing touches on Week 4 so i'll post that tonight or tomorrow. I'm running out of day light to take pictures. In the meantime this week, Studio Calico has a few CHAllenges going on so that totally motivated me to start scrapping some stuff.
First up is my Punch CHAllenge entry:
The challenge was to use 4 or more punches (which I have PLENTY of) on a card and this was the result. Just used scraps of paper I had from old kits and used my ribbon punch, heart punch, circle punch, medium cloud punch & scallop border punch. Quick & easy.

Then I combined a few of the CHAllenges (layering, washi, electric & doily) together into one layout. I Instagram'ed this photo of me & Ethan yesterday. LOVE INSTAGRAM! He came along with me yesterday to do some grocery shopping and was being such a sweet boy all day. No whining or complaining! So we treated ourselves to some Starbucks hot cocoa & my usual cinnamon dolce latte. The actual title was suppose to be 'HOT COCOA AND A LATTE' but I accidently stamped the 'H' after the 'C' that I had no choice but to stamp out CHOCOLATE. Oops. I used the alphabet wooden veneers from the County Fair kit. As well as most of the embellishments are from the County Fair kit and Ringtoss add-on. Some of the pattern paper is from the Handmade kit and the Glee Club kit.
I misted the main pattern paper with Calico white. I found a doily and misted it with Mister Huey's Overdue. I used some of my washi tape (including the SMASH tape) to punch out stars and a heart. The journal card is from Elle's Studio. I really love this layout! I used alot of foam adhesive tape to make things pop up. Love that stuff! Now back to making supper & finishing up PL Week 4!

PL 2012: Week 2

I got more comfortable doing PL this week. My week begins Sunday and ends on Saturday. I didn't take as much photos but just knew what I wanted to use in the album. This week was an interesting week for weather in Winnipeg for January. One day it was +4C and I was only wearing fall clothing, then the next day it was -14c with a WC of -31c so I had to bundle up Ethan with many layers to school. Plus, my truck was giving me problems by not starting on the first try. Ugh.
I also included a recipe of my #1 fave vietnamese soup (slight edge over Pho) in the album. I included paper mitts Ethan had brought home from school which he made. Love including the little things Ethan is making/learning in school in this album. At least it has a place instead of ending up in the garbage can.

On the backside of the recipe, I created an 8.5x11 layout of Arianna turning 17 months old. It's been awhile since I scrapbooked anything let alone her monthly LOs.
The journaling cards I used were from The Lily Pad - today journal cards - which I just typed up my journaling on them in Photoshop. Easy peasy. I didn't want to make it more difficult and complicated and wanted this week documented and DONE. Pattern papers were from Studio Calico kits.

Project Life 2012: Week 1 & Title Page

I've completed Week 1 for my Project Life. I finished my title page a few weeks ago and finally got around to posting it. I'm trying to keep my whole PL album simple. If I add up the amount of time I spent on Week 1, probably only 2 hours...after finally deciding what I really wanted.

I ended up doing "3" pages for the first week since I had a seperate title page. I still would like to add behind the title page a little "bio" of each of us and a picture. Especially the kids. For the journaling 3x4's I used Paislee Press' Press Cards, 4x6 pattern paper fillers were from Studio Calico's kits or scraps. I printed my pictures at home and used Epson Premium Glossy photo paper which made all the difference. I'm almost complete Week 2, just have to add the journaling. Then on to documenting Week 3!!

A Look Back at 2011...

Just a little compilation of what stood out of 2011. I hope to make a little mini-album of it...one day. Still have to get my Project Life physically started (at least I ordered Design A protectors & have my album), finish my Vancouver/Seattle Trip album & start my Disney World/Western Caribbean Cruise travel album. So much to do! So little time! =)
