Christmas Eve

Ahhhh...one of my favorite times of year!
I love getting the kids dressed up in their holiday pjs (new ones this year!), I love setting up the cookies & milk with Santa's letter, I love taking a picture of Ethan looking up at the tree in excitement.

BUT...unfortunately...i'll be working this Christmas evening. =(

So, i'll miss out on dressing them up in pjs & taking those pictures, waiting in anticipation for Santa to come. But, the positive side to this is that I will get home when they're asleep and get to see "Santa" put the gifts under the tree, fill their stockings, and drink the milk & eat cookies. *WINK*

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!

12 on 12/12/12

Well, I took more than 12 photos December 12th. But these were the 12 I chose best represented the day.
It snowed like crazy and made driving very slippery! I was pretty much skating on the road with my truck.
Technically a screen shot of the texts I got from my hubby. Hilarious!
Grabbed McD's breakfast for us.
Just chillin' with my baby girl.
Picked up Ethan from school and while I shoveled snow he made snow angels.
FACE WASH!! Herself. =P
Gingerbread house & tree decorating time!
Opening Day 12 of their Advent books. Of course they were fighting over it.
Played our last Fall session of dodgeball with my team. Yup, we're the Enemas. It's because we're a team of nurses.
*sigh* her new thing is to blow/spit at you.
Playing with her brother's Angry Birds' toys.
Tired & passed out.

It's almost Christmas!

Finally decided on the style of our Christmas card for 2012! I used a Paislee Press card template to make it quick and easy for me. I have sooo many adorable pictures of the kids that I couldn't decide which to use. Plus, I was meaning to take some Christmas photos of the kids posing with our new tree but never got a chance to. Maybe next year!

I'm definitely behind on the Christmas stuff this year. Just not feeling it. Well, I want to do more holiday-ish stuff but it's been so busy with parties and kids stuff and plain old housework that I haven't had time to sit down for some quiet time and create. Booourns.

I think i'll post some pictures of my Advent Book countdown I did for the kids next time!

Quick & simple challenge to document Nov 12th. Took multiple photos that day (more during my time at home than work) and picked my fave 12 photos.

Scrapbook Layout: Stuck Again

Wow. Another scrapbook layout in one week! Absurd.
It's for the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch challenge for Nov 4th. I really used lots of scraps to make this one. Lots of Amy Tangerine Sketchbook pattern papers. I didn't have a starburst mask or a Silhouette Cameo to create a diecut... I actually used an X-acto knife to cut all those pieces.
The picture is of Arianna getting herself stuck in the toy BBQ again. She had done this only a few weeks earlier. Papa & her Uncle frantically looked for her for a good 10 minutes before they heard a noise inside this toy (which was in the living room at the time) and so had to pull off the door to get her out. Funny funny girl. LOL.

Scrapbook Layout: Baby E

Wow. Just had the urge to scrap something this morning since Tommy is out of the house, kids are fed & watching a movie. It`s for a Studio Calico Weekly Challenge re: puzzle.
It's hard not having a printer (still need to buy a new one since I killed our printer from using it so much) so I dug out some old photos of Ethan as a 2 year that never went into an album or layout. I love the Studio Calico Yearbook collection because it's so fall-like (even if the photos were taken in May 2009).
It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to do after I had my main mat for the photos and had to hold up some pieces of scrap paper up to the window. All in all, love this!!

I plan on scrapping more tonight. I just need to stay in this Saturday. Don't want to go anywhere but just relax at home with a couple cups of coffee.

It's past Halloween & now time for the Holidays!

Ok, so Halloween was the other day and we did our trick-or-treating at the mall...again.
Ethan as Leonardo (aka Ethanardo)
Arianna as a fairy (aka Ari-Berry Fairy)

It's perfect while the kids are small. But we did start early so we could head out to our new neighbourhood to do MORE trick-or-treating. Unfortunately, the 5 min drive home put both kids to sleep at 6:50pm. And we passed sooo many homes with lights still on waiting for those little trick-or-treaters!
Now i'm looking forward to decorating our new home for the holidays! I just love all things Christmas!

Scrapbook Layout: Cute Boy of Mine

Wow, a scrapbook layout! Haven't done one of these in a LONG time. Besides trying to catch up on my Project Life album.
Kept it real simple. Misted some Mister Huey's mists in an assortment of color, used a Studio Calico camera veneer & new SC products. I also raised a couple of cameras I cut out of Amy Tangerine's new pattern paper.

Feels good to scrapbook! Still have to get my old dining table back downstairs so I can be with all my fun stuff. That's it for now!

Happy Thanksgiving!

We just celebrated our first Thanksgiving dinner (and first party) in our new home! We had lots of great food, drinks & friends. Kids had fun playing downstairs, parents enjoyed drinking and watching a football game. All in all it was great! Now for our second round of Thanksgiving dinner with our family this evening! Time to get cooking!

Fall Edition: Right Now

Learning: looking forward to re-learning & refreshing my brain with knowledge of med-surg. I'm planning on taking my CNA speciality certification in Med-Surg and hoping I pass since it's been 8 years i've been out of school

Adjusting: to new routines including (1) sleeping earlier & waking up at 7am instead of 10-11am like we did at the old house; (2)taking longer to get to work & go home; (3)Ethan's new morning school schedule

Enjoying: watching & hearing Arianna talk more & say things like, 'doh' with arms out indicating 'i don't know', saying 'NO' more clearly, 'let's go', 'dad bad'

Drinking: coffee from my Keurig machine again! I look forward to waking up in the morning and having coffee

Anticipating: the fall weather and changing out summer clothes to more warmer clothing for all of us

Watching: all the new episodes this week on TV such as CSI, Grey's Anatomy, Castle, The Mentalist -- love these shows!

Savoring: the fact that I can FINALLY relax and not have to worry about packing, moving, planning a wedding, etc. It's all behind me now and I can actually get back to regular routine with my family and work life. And back to scrapbooking.

Wanting: to shop, to decorate my house, to go on vacation, to have time for just myself, to sleeping in

Creating: catching up on my Project Life 2012 album & organizing (+purging) my new craft room area in the basement.

Planning: Thankgsgiving, Holiday parties here in our new home for family, friends & work friends.

Looking forward: to decorating my house for Christmas! I really do love the holiday season. As well as potty training Arianna and finally getting our furniture!

Thanks to Ali's prompt to do this. She's such an inspiration. I can't wait to get started on my December Daily!
