Easter Weekend Round Up (overdue)

We had a BUSY Easter weekend starting on Good Friday. Tommy's very good friend came home to visit all of us and introduce us to his awesome gf. We had a DELICIOUS sushi dinner with everyone at Kenko Niwa followed up by gelati at Mercato's. Yum.
That Saturday, I ventured out to the grocery store (which was super busy) to pick up chocolate and plastic eggs/bunnies/carrots to fill with treats for the kids' Easter egg hunt on Easter Monday. In the evening we ended up at our friends' home play board games (well, I didn't). Arianna received a gorgeous purple organza dress plus headbands from Emily & Duong. We all had fun playing dress up with the baby girls. Hehehe. And Ethan LOVED his CARS race track toy. He now has to bring it everywhere with him.

On Easter Sunday, I hid "eggs" for Ethan. He had a ton of fun!! Instead of chocolates and candies I put stickers in them. I can't wait till next year when Arianna can join him or that we can do it outside in the yard.
In the evening, we headed to my Lola's place for our dinner. Lots of food! Lola and my Auntie Nen are always happy to see the kids. They (the kids) always puts everyone in such a happy mood. LOVE! Especially my sweet Ethan...makes every laugh.
Also that evening we headed over to our friends', Pat & Mabe, home for a BBQ and another chill together watch hockey and basketball time. Liam and Ethan had fun playing together. After we got home that night, I ended up staying up till 3am putting everything together for the Egg Hunt. I was so tired. Ugh.On Easter Monday, we went for sushi lunch (this time at Meiji's) with our friends again. Wow, I can't remember the last time I had sushi TWICE in 2 days. LOVE IT! Us girls checked out some of the boutiques in the Village while the guys took the kids to Kawaii Crepe for dessert. Ethan had his very first crepe which he decided to fill with nutella, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, strawberries AND sprinkles! He actually enjoyed the crepe more than the filling. Arianna, on the other hand, enjoyed the filling. At dinner, I took the kids to our friends for the kid's Easter egg hunt. Fun hanging out with my friends...we all went to high school together 11 years ago and yet we still hang out to this day (with the inclusion of our children). The kids had an awesome time! LOL. I brought so many eggs and treats that each kids' baskets were overflowing. But Jane and I realized the kids had more fun playing with the "grass" and throwing it on each other heads than the treats themselves. Next year we'll just give them grass! =D

And that evening, we headed over to our friends' home again to say our goodbyes to Duong and Em.

It's was a fun-filled weekend and now it's time for me to focus on making invitations! I need 150 ASAP! Yikes!

Road Trip Round-Up

Ahhh. Last weekend we went to Minneapolis for our first road trip of the year. What can I say except that it was alot of driving (TONS of detours due to the current flood situation in southern Manitoba/North Dakota) and walking and kids. We left at 5am Friday morning and headed down HWY 59. It was a quick 4 day vacation. We (all of us parents) realized we can't go for a "quick" run down there for shopping with so many kids/babies. It's just too much. It's not like how it use to be when it was just couples. We need more time.

We got to Albertville early afternoon/lunch so we had a lunch break at Culver's Restaurant. DELICIOUS! My first time there ever. I will have to say we'll be visiting it next time we go back down south.

After a quick look at some of the outlet shops we headed to Bloomington to check in so that the kids can go swimming. Ethan's always been hesistant to enter the pool/water but Arianna was just fine. Not a single cry or peep...even when her brother was splashing her in the face. I think she will definitely be taking swimming lessons when she's older.

The next day we spent the whole day at Mall of America. Wow. It was sooo hard to shop! The kids spent the whole time in Nickelodeon Universe theme park. Ethan had tons of fun!! He definitely is a bit taller than last year so he was able to ride some of the other rides. He even went on the Log ride. We had dinner at Rainforest Cafe and we all shared the "Volcano" dessert. Mmmm.

On Sunday, we headed to IKEA (of course) for yummy cheap food & shopping then went back to the Albertville Outlets to shop. I found running shoes! Yay! I did tons of shopping for the kids. For supper we headed to Edina to try P.F. Chang Bistro. Not bad Chinese food. =)

On Monday, we had a late breakfast at Perkins and headed home. I can just say that driving through Fargo and Grand Forks felt like I was driving in the middle of a lake. Crazy flooding! And once we past the U.S-Canada border, I got a text from my sister telling me they were closing HWY 75 so we had to detour to Winkler & Carmen to get back to Winnipeg. Whew. That was a LONG drive. We didn't get home till past midnight.

All in all, the trip was fun. We'll definitely be going back down south but once the flooding has cleared.

I'm currently working on finishing up my "Road Trip #1 to Minneapolis" mini album. Hopefully i'll have it done soon so I can post photos.

Road Trip #1

Ahhh, busy packing for our first road trip to the U.S.

First time i'm packing for myself, my husband AND two kids. Wow. So hard not to overpack and worry that i'll forget something. We're leaving early Friday morning (5A.M.) and i'm driving first. Eeek. Hopefully I can sleep.

I've also pre-made my Road Trip mini album and packed up a few supplies and embellishments. I also brought along my Fuji 7S Mini Instax camera with 4 rolls of film so i'm very excited to start documenting and collecting things!
I better get out and buy some food for Arianna & some snacks for Ethan. =) xoxo, jen

Funny Kids!

I just had to post this picture. Love both their faces. LOL. =)

Well, i'm finally done making my best friend's surprise party invitations! Yay! Now I have to start on my goddaughter's 1st birthday invitations. Whew. But I think i'll start it after we come back from our Minneapolis Trip this week. I made a little travel mini album to fill with all sorts of goodies I collect. We go at least once a year down to Minneapolis but it's Arianna's first time and i'd like to document it all. Especially with all the kids. I want to use my Fuji Mini 7S Instax camera so I gotta go out and buy more film. That will help with getting it complete. I'll post the pictures soon.

FINALLY getting out of the city. I'm just crossing my fingers its not to flooded on the highways (yet) down south. This flood is scary. My basement already flooded a bit...well, I think the sump pump is still frozen. Booo. But it's fixed!

Time for lunch with the kiddies! Then off we go to enjoy this sunny, spring day!
