Christmas JOY

It's almost Christmas! I haven't been feeling the Christmas JOY as much as i'd like. I think our 2-week trip threw me off schedule and now i'm rushing around trying to find last minute gifts (NOT LIKE ME compared to last year) and I'm not even in the mood to wrap gifts. I'm pretty much going through the motion that it's Christmas. Ay. Anyway, the tree is up (and I did find those damn ornaments finally), Ethan's built his gingerbread house, Santa picture for 2011 is done (and hilarious) and i've got Christmas cards ready to be sent. Well, the cards will arrive late but oh well. I'm also trying to keep up with my December Daily but it's been hard. I take the pictures and remember the stories but not really finding time to sit down and catch up. Oh well.

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!

Back from the sunshine & heat!

Yes, we came back from our almost 2 week vacation in Orlando & our 7-day Western Caribbean cruise! Busy trying to finish doing all our laundry, cleaning house & preparing to FINALLY put up our Christmas tree and decorations. Also, trying to play catch up on my December Daily. I plan on catching up on my DD once I come home from work tonight. (Booo - not feeling like going back to the hospital). I also have to do my mini-album of our trip. I was planning on working on it while travelling but was too busy enjoying the sun & heat and everything else. Till later! =)

Drinking my coffee and reading the paper online. Lest We Forget. Remembrance Day.

Did you know that 11/11/11 comes every ONE HUNDRED years? Wow. Glad to be around now. I'll post my 11:11pm photo later tonight - that's if I remember to take a photo at work.

Photo Challenge: A Favorite photo from October

For my very first Paper Mama Weekly Photo Challenge entry, here's my Favorite photo from October.

Of course it had to be Halloween-related. I LOVE this picture so much. Snow White definitely suited Arianna this year! Next year, she's going to be "Mario" and Ethan will be "Luigi". But, that's what Tommy wants of course. I'd rather she be Super Woman with Superman. LOL. =)

Pinterest = Inspiration to Create!!

So over the past week I had sneaked some minutes here and there to finish TWO layouts! Amazing for me. LOL. First one up is a Pinterest inspiration. The butterflies, the monochromatic look & feel of it inspired me to create my own twist to this of my Ethan & Arianna.

One of my favorite pictures I took of Ethan & Arianna when we spent a beautiful fall day at Assiniboine Park in the Leo Mol Garden with my mom. I hand-drew the white stitching (since I don't own a sewing machine...yet) and then randomly placed butterflies around the page. This layout literally took me 30 minutes from start to finish. One of my favorite pages I've made so far!

Next one up is another Pinterest inspiration that I had pinned a few months ago. I knew I wanted to create a heart, so I ended up using different circle punches, one of my Studio Calico kits and other random pattern paper I had to create this sweet layout of Arianna.

This page took me awhile to get the heart perfect (enough). It was hard to keep the shape and to glue it down in its spot. I then added butterfly chipboards randomly to the circles to make it more girly! I love the colors on this layout! The journaling reads:

"You will always be my sweet baby girl! I love how adorable & innocent you are. How you smile & always want me to carry you and hug/kiss you and sleep right next to me. I'll cherish these sweet, fleeting days. Love, Mommy."

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to take pictures of my Vancouver/Seattle mini-album that i've been working on awhile and post it up tomorrow. It was a 5 day whirlwind summer trip that is taking me a really LONG TIME to finish. I also am starting my December Daily 2011 album tonight. Trying to use up all my Christmas stash i've hoarded for the past 3 years. I don't want to buy anything new for it. But I really have to get it started before we leave in 2 weeks! Here's my DD of 2010, 2009. I also have a DD 2008 but never took pictures of it. Maybe one day i'll post it up too. And my DD 2009 was pre-finished pages. LOL. I really need to catch up on things!! =D

Halloween & A giveaway!!

It's November people!!! Super excited for this month BECAUSE we're going to Disney World AND a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise in 3 weeks!! Woohooo! Anyway, it's been awhile since i've posted anything! So here's my sweet kiddies dressed up on Halloween last night.
Ethan is OBSESSED with Ninja Turtles so he wanted to be Leonardo (because he wears a blue mask/sash). Don't forget his swords.
Little Arianna was Snow White. LOVED! I had a crown for her but she refused to wear it, so I ended up tying a red ribbon around her head. She kept that on for awhile...till it fell off her head.

We just went treat-or-treating at the mall. People OBVIOUSLY thought they were so adorable at the mall.
I took Ethan and Liam (Spiderman) around to the different stores while Arianna sat in the stroller and watched on. I was afraid of her getting trampled on so maybe next year she can go around too.
My sweet goddaughter, Elise, was a pink leopard! HOW CUTE! I can't believe how much she's grown! She's only 2 months older than Arianna but so much taller! =)
Afterwards, we went to visit friends and their new baby. Then off to see my mom. My mom was sooo happy to see them! =)

In other news, i'd like to post an AWESOME GIVEAWAY at Dear Lizzy's blog for a chance to win the Studio Calico-Ali Edward's collaboration on a December Daily kit! I would LOVE to win this since money's tight for the trip. =) I've done a December Daily for the past 3 years and REALLY love this project! . You can head over to Liz's blog to sign up for a chance to win!! GOOD LUCK!

Hopefully i'll have a chance to post up some new layouts i've created this past weekend. =)

My Happiness: E&A

Just a sweet little layout of my E&A outside enjoying the sunshine & warmth a couple weeks ago.

I misted my standard American Craft's white cardstock with Studio Calico's Mister Huey's Piglet, Orchard and Lemonade. I punched out a heart and a couple of clouds then misted right over them. This pin inspired me while I was wasting some time on Pinterest.
I used bits and pieces from previous Studio Calico kits, some embellishments from Elle's Studio, October Afternoon and washi tape.

Onto my next project!

My two loves...E&A. Anyway, finally got myself a DSLR! Just a Canon T2i for starters. Still learning the basics and have downloaded myself the ebook "Canon T2i for Dummies" onto my iphone. LOL. I'm soooo excited! Spent the day at the park with the kiddies and my mom enjoying this absolutely GORGEOUS, warm sunny day late September. And it's going to be even warmer (high 20s celcius) the rest of the week. I'm so glad i'm off till the weekend to enjoy it!

1st Day of School: Mini Book

Just a quick post of a little quick project I did the other day. I documented Ethan's first day of nursery school in this cute 4x4 mini book using paper from Studio Calico's Paper Moon kit. I also misted some of the cardstock with Mister Huey's White, Bluegrass and Orchard. I quickly cropped all pictures I wanted to use into 2.5x2.5 squares on Photoshop.
Embellishments used by Elle's Studio, Jenni Bowlin bingo card, Crate Paper Toy Box phrase stickers, Basic Grey chipboard alphas, and AC Thickers. Thanks for looking! =D

It's September! Whaaat?!

I can't believe it's the second week of September already! And summer officially was over on Monday. The hot & sunny weather ended on Sunday and by Monday, fall weather was apparent.
My sweet, 4-year old Ethan has officially begun school. Last Friday, we (Arianna & I) walked him to school for his one hour trial class. I teared a bit on the way home. I was also worried that he'd misbehave or cry. BUT HE DIDN'T! He quite enjoyed it.
Today, Tommy and his Papa walked him to school. I don't think Tommy can believe his little son is in school either. But, he's proud. Ethan survived his first full afternoon. Whew. And he told us about all his songs he learned and "ate chocolate pudding and drank milk" in class. I think he just enjoys the treat part of the day.

In other news, our sweet Arianna is WALKING! From last Monday where she was just taking short steps forward to full out WALKING on the sidewalk and grass with no difficulty. Wow. But she is getting into everything! Crazy girl! And our sweet princess turns 13 months today! Yay!
That's it for now (since it's almost 2am).

It's Saturday...

...and it's gorgeous outside!

Busy busy weekend - birthday party this afternoon and a friend flying in for E&A's baptism tomorrow. So, a huge group of us will be going out to dinner tonight. Then tomorrow, Ethan and Arianna are getting baptized followed by dinner.
Especially since I just finished a stretch of 9 evening shifts in a row! And I have tons of laundry and cleaning to do at home. I just want to curl up in my bed and sleep. Oh, how I miss sleep...

Anyway, I was able to have a couple hours to myself LATE last night (as in 2am) so I finished two scrapbook layouts.
First up is Ethan overlooking the 360degree view of Seattle on the Fourth of July. Our very first time being in the US on this day & celebrating it with our American family.I printed up an 8x12 photo of him and kept it simple using a few bits of the Boardwalk kit at Studio Calico. I have to say, this is one of the most simpliest layouts i've done. Took me only 20 minutes to complete. I wanted to try something different. Plus, Boardwalk is my most FAVORITE kit so i'm trying to use as little as possible to save it. hehe.

Second layout I made was little Arianna at 11 months old trying to look over the glass barrier. We're in Vancouver visiting the Vancouver Aquarium with some friends. She just looks so cute trying to pull herself up higher. LOL. In the Boardwalk kit was the Pink Paislee mistable trim. I misted Mister Huey's Bonny Blue on one trim and mixed Bluegrass and Bonny Blue on a second one. They represented the pretty blue water. Next, I cut up small pieces of the trim and misted those with Calico White. Those white ones represented my clouds. I also kept this layout simple.

That's it for now. Still trying to finish up the little details on my Week in the Life album. Seriously, it's almost done. =)

My baby girl turns ONE

Busy busy weekend! My little princess, Arianna, turned one year old on Saturday! So bittersweet. But i'm still counting her age in months till she's 2 sooo she's still a baby to me. Just some birthday photos from her little party with the family.

Sorry so photo heavy but I just had to post these. On another note, i'm almost done my WITL Album. It's been almost 3 weeks but work is getting in the way of my creativity. =)
